• The **master bedroom** should be in the **south-west** area of the building. This room can be used by the **father** or the **eldest son** in the family. The central south portion is also recommended for the eldest son .
• Beds should be placed so as the head of the person should be in **south** or **East** direction. The bedroom should not be constructed **above kitchen**.
• The rooms should not be in the **central portion** of the building or in the **basement**; as it may lead to mental instability in person using such bedrooms.
• Vastu Shastra lays clear rules for the placement of bed in the room. According to Vastu Shastra , the beds should never be placed under the joint in roof or under a **beam**. The beds should always be kept **away from the walls**.
• If any cabinets of almirahs are constructed/placed in the bedroom, which contain valuable documents, cash, jewelry etc., it should be in the **south-west** of the room opening towards **north**
• An attached bathroom to the room can be to the **north-west** or **West** of the Bedroom.
• If You stay in a Bunglow and there are more than one floors, the head of the family (elder person) should have a bedroom on the **topmost floor** and in the **south-west corner**. This room should never be used as a bedroom of young children, or unnecessary quarrels are likely to occur in the house.
• **Southwest corner** of the bedroom should never be left empty, always keep **heavy things**, furniture etc. in this portion in every room as a general rule of Vastu. The southwest side of the house and all the rooms inside the house should always be **heavier** than the east and northeast side.
• Maximum **open space** should be left in the **northeast** side of the rooms and house. The dressing-table in the bedroom should be kept **north** directionDirections Name of God
• Good lighting and ventilation is important for happy living and health. Air has to free flow to inside, so bigger **windows** are recommended for apartment flats. The main concept of this construction is good ventilation, air, lighting.

CRACKS ON WALLS :
Cracks Play a Very **Negative Effect** on the Inhabitants of the House as Per VASTU . Its Said thats Godess **Laxmi** will Not Bless the House with Cracks on the Walls. Sudden Cracks are an Indication that Something **Negative** Might Happen to the Persons Staying in the House.

Colour of Walls As Per Vastu Shastra
What we see effects our mind, both in good ways and bad. The kind of paintings etc. in the house also effects the thinking of the Persons Living in the House . The colors you see when you wake up define you day. As a general rule in Vastu **light colours** in house are always better than dark shades. The colour of walls in the bedroom should be **light rose, light green, Yellow , Cream Color , White color** etc for they encourage **Positive thinking**.

Sleeping Direction As Per Vastu Shastra
Vastu allows sleeping with head in any direction except **north**. The detail of the direction of head while sleeping and its effects is as under:

East: East
is the direction of knowledge. Sleeping with head in the east **improves health**, **increases knowledge** and increases a liking for spiritualism. **Children** should always sleep with head in the east.

West:
Sleeping with one's head in the west causes **bad dreams**, **illness**, **disturbed sleep** and **violent nature**.

North:
Sleeping with head in the north causes **fear** and **sleeplessness** and **major illness**.

South:
**South is the best direction for sleeping**. Sleeping with one's head in the south brings **happiness** and **sound sleep**. It also leads to **increment in wealth and prosperity**.

STUDY TABLE AS PER VASTU SHASTRA

The study table, if placed in the bedroom, should be placed so as to ensure that the child should face **east**, **north** or **north-east** while studying. Facing **east** ensures **better concentration** while studying.

Guest Room
The **north-west** corner is ideal as a guest room. This is the centre for **vayu** and denotes **movement**. Guests so placed mean that they will **not stay unduly long**.

DINING ROOM :
Best place for dining room is in the **west**. Now a days, dining room is adjusted with the kitchen or drawing room. Dining table should be arranged in the **South-west** or **north-west** portion of the room. Water arrangement should be in the **north-east** corner and fridge etc. (electrical appliances, if any) should be kept in **south-east** corner. Its Best to face towards **east** or **north** while taking meals for all Members.

KITCHEN :
**South-east** corner is the place of god of fire (**Agni Dev**), therefore, kitchen where fire has an important role Should be built in this corner. Kitchen should **never** be built in the **north-east**, **South-west** or in the **centre** of the House. Burner (gas burner, stove, Chulha etc.) should be kept in the **south-east** corner of the kitchen room , such that while cooking the person may face towards the **east**. Water arrangement should be made in the **north-east** corner. Shelves for keeping raw commodities, utensils etc. should be kept on the **south** or **west** side.

LIFT POSITION
Lift positions are very important. A lift continuously moves and keeps on displacing air. The movement of the lift establishes a **Northwest effect** in that region. The main door of an apartment should **not face a lift**. It should also not be very near the lift. Similarly, a staircase should not face an apartment door. In this region, again the forces would be moving all the time and it also has the same **Northwest effect**. In other words, even if you have the apartment door in Northeast, which is a positive sector, the presence of a lift operating continuously, brings in negative **Northwest currents** and the effect will be the same as though you had a door in North of Northwest .

BEAMS :
If there are beams in the apartment, then make sure that **no one works or sleeps under the beam**. A beam is always under tension and the area around it and the corresponding energy field gets subtly altered. They transmit the same tension vibration. A person who sits or sleeps under it, **looses concentration** and is **ill at ease**. Move the bed away from the beam. If your working table is under a beam or if your chair is under the beam, move it so that you are away from the beam effect.

ROUNDING AND BULGES:
To get better aesthetic look, sometimes the corner is rounded. Kindly Note that a rounding removes a portion of the active area from a corner. Hence, the opposite corner becomes stronger. If **Northeast is rounded**, then the **Southwest becomes strong** which will lead to **bad effects**. Similarly if Northwest is rounded, Southeast becomes strong and creates a distortion. If rounding is desired then they should be considered in both **Northwest and Southeast**. In other words, if you are rounding the Northwest corner, then the Southeast should also be rounded to the same extent to maintain a harmonious field inside. Rounding of **Southwest is quite good** as it helps in easy neutralisation and an abundant cosmic surplus. Rounding of **Northeast should never be done**, as it will take away the strength of the Northeast sector.

SPACE :
If your house has **more open vacant space in south than in north**, it will lead to **Losses and downfall**, Wheather its a house or an industry . More open space in the **east than in the west is auspicious**; the principle holds true for more open space in the **north than in the south** too. **Open space should be kept all around the building**. The plot having road on the **east-north** directions is better.

WATER TANKS :
Water tanks should be on the roof in the **south-west** direction. **Never place WATER TANKS in north or northeast corner**. Underground water tank should be built-in **north-east** direction only. Flow of water and its outlet in the directions other than **east, north-west, north-east and north causes troubles** .

HEAVY STUFF :
Keep your heavy and permanent items in the **south-west corner** of the building or plot. For a happy family life place more heavy items in the rooms **south-west and south-sides**. On the other hand, the lighter (weightless) items should be in the **north, north-east and north-west** directions. TV, radio or any other entertainment device should be placed near the **south-west corner** .

DOORS
There should be only **one main door** of the house, which should be adorned with auspicious symbols. If more than one door are required, take care not to have two doors **opposite each other**. All the doors and windows should be of the **same height**, upper edges being in the same straight line.

WALLS :
The Boundary wall on the **north and east side should be of less thickness**, and the walls on **south and west side should be built thicker**. Construction of the wall must be started at the **South-West corner** and work must proceed towards **east** or towards **north** in the first phase. At every stage during the progress of work, the height of the wall should be raised gradually in such a way that any wall is **lower in height towards the eastern end** than that towards the western end; so also the height towards the **northern end is always lower** than that towards the southern end. The construction of walls from south east towards north and from North-west towards east should be taken up in the second phase. **Main building must be constructed in the south-west portion of the plot**, leaving **more space open on the north and east** than on the south and west respectively.

• Main Doors , Bedroom Door Doors of kitchen and bathroom should always **Open Inside** .
• Never fix a **mirror** on **South and West wall** .
• Bedrooms should be in **South and West** Side of the Apartment of Plot .
• **Master bed room** is best Recommended to be in **South-West**.
• While sleeping head should be in **South or East** .
• In bed rooms, always use **bed** of **4 (four) legs only.**
• Never keep **leg on leg** while sleeping.
• **Toilets & bathrooms** should be in **North-West** portion.
• All **rain water** should flow from **South to North** and **West to East** only.
• **Drainage pipes** should be in **North or East** portion of the plot or house.
• **Slope of the plot** - **North-East should be lowest** Compared to the whole Plot **South-West should be highest**.
• **Toilet seat (W.C.)** should not be **East-West** , It should be **North-South** only.
• Out houses should not touch the **compound wall** of **North and East** side.
• Face **East of North** Directions while **reading or transacting** any business deal.
• Face **East while cooking**, **West** will be allowed if there is no alternative, but **never face South** while cooking.
• **Staircase** should be in **South**, **West** or **South-West** but if it is wooden than it can be anywhere even in North or East.
• Stairs should go from **North to South** or **East to West**.
• Stairs should always be in **clock wise direction**.
• **Over-head water tank** should be in **South-West**. And if it is in North-West, then any other higher structure to be made in South-West. It should not touch the slab it should be above and on four pillars.
• **Big trees** should not be grown in **North or East**. They should be in **South or West** side of the house.
• Never put the poster of **crying girl, war scene, angry man and pigeon, crow, owl or eagle, these are inauspicious as per Vastu Shastra**.
